I heard this for the first time probably in 2001, 2002. 19 or 20 years old, actively planning on not becoming a parent. It stabbed me then. Coming back to it, all these years later, after struggling to have a child, then having a beautiful daughter, and then dealing with two particularly difficult miscarriages after......it's such a knife. Such a beautiful, beautiful knife.

I like how even in an overwhelmingly brass and wind band, the cello's superiority is just so apparent.

Having been able to perform this at the National Concert Band Festival and having the cadenza, I can say that this is easily the most beautiful and moving pieces of music I have ever played. My heart goes out to James Barnes and his family, and I can only hope more people are able to hear this tragedy that was transformed into something both inspiring and magnificent. May you rest in peace and love Natalie. <3 Your father is an amazing man.

Inolvidable! primera actuación del Trío MJC con la Banda Sinfónica Juvenil. Histórico, una quena interpretada magistralmente por Mauro Ciavatini en este ensamble maravilloso. El piano de Jorge Martínez y por supuesto el maestro Pablo Jaurena con su bandoneón, dirigidos por el maestrisimo Frank De Vuyst. que afortunada fui en esta época como directora de la Red de Música de Medellín.

Qué maravilla de melodía... La he descubierto al estar como banda sonora de la historia de la guerra civil, el documental "España en Guerra", de RTVE, disponible también aquí en RUclips. Y la interpretación por la Escuela de Música de Medellín, espectacular.

Acabo de descubrir a este compositor y me encanta. Todo a raíz de ver la serie "España en Guerra", de RTVE, aquí también disponible. Se nota que es una música valenciana, pero muy vanguardista. A veces me recuerda a R. Strauss...
